Two (or is that 51?) fascinating new video games about...video games

Time for some fake video game history.

There was a time, back in, say, 2009, when the idea of a Video Game That Was About Video Games meant the game was going to acknowledge—ha! ha!—that, yes, it had a tutorial and (you sitting down?) you’d discover that it had a side character called Master Chef. 

No “i” before the “e” in that one!

Thankfully, some human endeavors are improved by the Earth’s laps around the sun.

I’m pleased to report there were two upcoming Video Games About Video Games at the gaming showcases I attended last week in Los Angeles, and they are both fascinating and likely to be worth your time.

One is called UFO 50, and is actually 50 games.

But let’s start with the other, because it’s got just the best title: “The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time.”
