Five Nights At Freddy’s creator made $26 million in series’ first two years, records show

The viral indie game Five Nights At Freddy’s was a lucrative project for developer Scott Cawthon almost immediately upon its 2014 launch, earning its creator more than $66 million through 2019.
Income from the games tapered off after four years, from massive eight-figure hauls to more modest seven-figure takes, when sequels stopped making as big a mark.
That’s according to income figures from Cawthon’s tax returns that were included in court records recently reviewed by Game File. The records are tied to a divorce dispute in Texas between Cawthon and his ex-wife over the value of the developer’s gaming business, ScottGames.
