Can't wait to play this new POP this weekend ! I finished the demo yesterday and LOVED the fact that you could use a screenshot as a marker on the map. Such a great idea for a Metroidvania:)
Oooo I love a good Metroidvania style game. I just completed Hogwarts Legacy and now flicking between Total Warhammer 3 and Trails in the Sky:Trails To Azure.
I love this first week of newsletters! The one thing I am concerned/have a suggestion about is regarding the release calendar. Is the newsletter with the release calendar going to be locked behind the paywall when that starts? If so could you possibly move it to the free edition? I really enjoyed the release calendar as part of the Axios newsletter.
My plan is to paywall Friday editions but I've also considered offering a calendar--or at least a version of it--as a standalone article on the site. I hadn't thought through if I'd paywall that.
I wish all of the work I'm doing here could be free, but, unless people miraculously want to pay for a site that has no paywall, some it will have to eventually be delivered behind a paywall.
But we'll see! It'll be an evolving process, I'm sure. Feedback like yours helps.
Hello, I love your Game File stuff so much, reading the Iwata interview piece was fascinating. I’ve noticed in this article, that two of the links don’t go where they should. The link about Dead Space goes to a Wikipedia entry about Resident Evil 4 and clicking on the hyperlink about Suicide Squad instead leads to a Minecraft page. Also, you have Friday, Jan. 18 instead of Jan. 19. But regardless, I love the release calendar feature, as it will help with catching up on all the crazy gaming news we will surely get!
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely miss having a copy editor. I've fixed the Suicide Squad link and the Friday date. I appreciate you pointing those out. As for the link near Dead Space, that's intentional. I was referring to two great January releases and being playful about how I referred to the second one, RE4.
No news, but some context: Original first party PlayStation games have had a two year gap between console and PC release. But remasters/remakes for console have come to PC in less than a year...
- Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, which contained the PS4's Uncharted 4 and Uncharted The Lost Legacy, was released on PC in January 2022 and then for PC in October of that year, 10 months later.
- The Last of Us Part 1 remake came out on PS5 in September 2022 and then for PC in March 2023, about six months later.

Also just a heads up but the list of dates also has "Sunday, Jan. 12" instead of Jan 14.
I don't know what happened! I will re-double my efforts next week to... accurately read a calendar. Always the simplest things...
Hi, are there any news (or timeline) on "The Last of Us: Part 2" PC port ?

thank you very much for this context.
